possible internet scams? sell or not to sell ?
Here is a list of things you should look out for as a seller to avoid a possible scam.
Seller's top 10 red flags , and help you do the right thing !
1: Buyer offers to pay you way more than the actual value of the item
if you will end the auction early. if the Buyer don't respect ebay and
auction rules ,next thing ... i
will not respect you , and your money.
don't sell him the item!
2:
Buyer is in Nigeria/Indonesia/Roumania etc... and wants to pay you using
WU money order. don't sell
noting to non us or international if the money
isn't FIRST in your bank
account.
first get the money into your bank ! and wait for the wu
money order to clear .
3: Buyer keeps asking you to send item before you have cash in your hands. read part 2..
4: Buyer wants you to ship FedEx overnight. if you got the money FIRST to your bank account it's ok ..
but selling using PAYPAL can risk your money (charge back)
5. Wants to buy off-eBay. if you do it you are violating ebay policy...
6. Wants to pay with a credit card using seller's merchant account. only money order !!
7. Zero feedback member, usually registered on the same day they contact the seller,
or only a day or two prior to the contact. don't sell him the item!
8: Interested in high-priced item ... use only money order or money transfer for high-priced item!
9. E-mail written in broken English ... use only money order or money transfer for this buyer.
10. Buyer asks you to send the item to relatives or friends use only money order or money transfer for this buyer.
